General Rules of Conduct

In order to avoid any confusion about what people can and can't do, here is a more-or-less complete list of the rules. Some threads may have additional rules, so check any appropriate "stickies" before you post.

1. Respect: We're here to have share information and ideas among each other. With so many different personalities gathered in one place, how one conducts oneself during these situations makes all the difference. Opinions are valued on the forum, yours and everybody else's. But please remember to respect each other and have discussions and not arguments. If you find yourself disagreeing with another member, think first and then calmly compose your words. Don't be insulting if you happen to disagree with someone, just understand that their views are different than yours. Just really treat each other how you would like to be treated.

2. Absolutely NO Chat speak/SMS lingo (e.g. i wan dat, plz fone me, c u or whatever). Plain simple English language or if you post some particular small texts of another language, that has to be there within a travelogue, please do give an English translation.

3. No Spam. This also applies to other areas of the forums such as leaving visitor messages on people's profiles. Spam may be dealt with by post count reduction or a member being banned, on case-to-case basis. Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) nonsense posts, or the such.

4. Let not your post/thread infringe upon the copyrights of others. Copyright violations will be removed and the offense remedied as circumstances warrant. If you would like to post an article or text from another source, please include a link to the article. Absolutely credit the author of the article you are posting from. Also do add a summary, if possible, in your own words.

5. While debating and discussion is fine, no rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts will be tolerated.

6. Multiple or repeated posting in order to increase your post count is not allowed. Cross posting, the act of posting the same thing across multiple forums, is not allowed. Please just post once in the most appropriate forum.

7. You cannot post advertisements or notices for contests. See the Classifieds section for any trade queries.

8. Foul language isn't necessary to discuss and help people, so it won't be tolerated. Any attempt to bypass the bad language filters will result in an infraction against the user and that post being edited or removed. Using asterisks or any other symbol to disguise language is considered bypassing the filter.

9. Do not post content from private correspondence, such as email or chat, within the forums. Posting any other persons private information such as email, phone number or address could result in banning.

10. Any posts that are sexual or violent in nature or violate community standards will be removed and member will be banned.

11. Hidden links in posts or signatures are assumed to be malicious and members posting such content will be permanently banned, no exceptions.

12. If you are going to post material that is not your own, properly credit the source(s); failure to do so is considered plagiarism.

13. Considering the real-time nature of this forum, it is impossible for us to review messages or confirm the validity of information posted. Please remember that we do not actively monitor the contents of and are not responsible for any messages posted.
